Review of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014) by Diego Andrés Q — 11 May 2015
The epic conclusion of the Hobbit trilogy is actually very entertaining and kept my interest throughout with excellent computer-generated imagery (CGI) and adventure. However, it should have been called: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Green Screen.
Almost every scene was shot in front of a green screen. It is understandable to a fault, but even the scenes that did not contain CGI still used a green screen when there was not a need for it. It made the film seem cheap and lazy, although it was far from it.
