Review of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014) by Petros T — 30 Nov 2015
The final film of the Hobbit trilogy basically consists of the titular battle: Smaug attacks Lake Town, Smaug dies, then you've got a battle for a couple of hours, then the Hobbit returns home, end of the story.
Not much on first glance. Still, despite some silly moments, it's not a bad battle at all; it's a rather good one actually, with several strong, thrilling moments. Not as grandiose a film as possibly intended, but it being less than 2,5 hours long helps a lot.
