Review of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014) by Jonathan G — 31 Mar 2016
I didn't see this film in the cinema and hard a lot of negative reviews so was nervous of seeing it as I didn't want to dislike it. Luckily I didn't. It was still very action heavy and missed some of the emotional poignancy and epic simplicity of the Return of the King but there was still enough character development and heart to keep me engaged throughout.
Looking back over the trilogy this was probably my least favourite of the three and I definitely feel the trilogy was still very different from what it could/should have been in relation to the books.
That being said whilst it is no Lord of the Rings it was still very well done and I definitely would re-watch all three.
