Review of The Hobbit (1977) by Eric C — 30 Dec 2008
This was always meant to be a children's movie. It was made for TV, not for the movies. Viewed with retrospect with today's flims, this doesn't hold up. But it perfectly accomplished what it set out to do at the time.
It will still be better for children today than the LOTR films of Jackson.
