Review of The Hoax (2006) by Rajraj W — 01 Jan 2009
A well-made drama with Richard Gere in the mainrole, playing the big liar and in the end schizophrenic Clifford Irving. Clifford Irving was an author who wrote an autobiography of Howard Huges. And the whole story was dictated and it became the biggest hoax in modern time.
Howard Huges was a millionaire, business leader and loved airplanes. His life is very well told in the movie "The Aviator" with Leonardo DiCaprio. The Hoax starts pretty slow but after a while the movie became rather OK.
Always interesting to watch this "based on a true story" movies. An extra plus because the movie is directed by: Lasse Hallström, the famous swedish director.
