Richard Gere is obviously the star, but Alfred Molina steals a great deal of the movie, successfully bringing levity to this comedy-drama. But the movie goes in a slightly unexpected, slightly more serious, and slightly more interesting direction in the second half.
And while the final outcome is known for even those unfamiliar with the story, learning the details keep you engaged.
