Review of The Hoax (2006) by Matthew C — 06 Jun 2012
This wasn't the worst but a real disappointment in view of the film's true subject material, which had such potential. With a great storyline basis it bypassed a lot of opportunity for humour, mischief and quirkiness.
The original author of the fake autobiography himself made the point when interviewed that the intrigue and deception was a lot of fun at the time. But even then, straight man Richard Gere would have missed the point in an unfortunate piece of casting.
