Review of The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) by Tom Z — 18 Aug 2017
The saving grace of this movie is Samuel L. Jackson's and Ryan Reynolds' chemistry together. Bouncing insults and quips at one another was a blast to watch along with numerous visual gags and action scenes that reminded me of the ones from Kingsman: The Secret Service.
As much as I enjoyed these parts you had to wait a while for this to happen. The set up to get these two characters together is so dark and played so straight I would have expected it from an entirely different movie.
I wish the villain was more cartoonishly evil, like Samuel L. Jackson's character from Kingsman, rather then what we got. I would recommend this if your into lighthearted action movies.
