Review of The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) by Alicia P — 08 Aug 2017
This one is actually pretty good. I had to turn off my brain as much as I could, to enjoy this movie. There were a couple of flaws, especially with the action scenes but it's not even a big deal. With Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson, the duo makes this movie quite enjoyable. I had a handful of laughs throughout the movie that I took a liking of the movie. Sure, there were f bombs here and there but what can you expect from a movie when Deadpool and Nick Fury is in it?
Elodie Young and Salma Hayek both also did an awesome job. Especially Salma Hayek, her robust attitude as the lover of Samuel L. Jackson's character, makes her own spotlight in the movie. It's a real good one too. Meanwhile, you have Ryan Reynolds' character who is always a careful, boy scout, always by the book kind of guy but when he meets the hitman, things change over time.
You have two people on opposite sides. Hate each other but have to work together. Sooner or later, they end up being bros. Let's not forget about Gary Oldman, who is kinda of the main antagonist. While doing great as the typical villain in the story, it's no surprising that he does a good job anyhow.
All throughout the movie, I got myself thinking that this movie is not that bad. Even though it was an advanced screening, I still enjoy it not because of the perks of watching it early but the movie itself is really enjoyable. If you like the actors who are in this movie, don't worry about if it's bad or not. Worry about how good this motherf***ing movie is.
