My mom watched this movie a long time ago, and she always told me she thought it was a stupid movie... And she loves science fiction. So I never watched it. However, I watched it at a friend's house a few months ago and enjoyed it immensely.
I think you need to have the right type of humor for it, but it's quite hilarious, to me, and Martin Freeman was absolutely wonderful.
