Review of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) by Andreas A — 16 Dec 2018
Good cast. Fantastic book. Rubbish conversion to film. Hollywood does not appear to do British comedy well, or at all. The movie misses the point of subtle absurdity; that totally off-the-wall pythonesque humor that made Douglas Adams such an enjoyable author.
I am saddened that there are people who will only know of Hitchhiker's Guide through this poor addaptation. I'm not sure why I gave it two stars, perhaps out of respect for the late Douglas Adams.
