Review of The Hitcher (1986) by Luke B — 09 Sep 2008
WOW! I thought this would be a bit of a lame horror film but every scene was amazing. This movie is a classic game of cat and mouse travelling along a road of destruction.
They really don't make films like this anymore. The action scenes stand up really well to today's standards without over the top explosions and distracting sound track. The best thing about it is how tense it is. You feel like something terrible awaits the teenager around every corner.I found his acting very real and thought I would be doing the same in his situation. The "Hitcher" is a superb bad guy, really creepy and pyschotic. The pace might be too slow for some people but I thought it was beautifully shot. Perfect for a spooky night in, make sure you have nearby cusions/duvet etc to hide behind.
