Review of The Hitcher (1986) by Alex D — 06 Jan 2008
Not to be confused with the lame 2007 remake, this is one of the most intense road thrillers ever made. Lots of fast-paced action, tight suspense, ominous atmosphere, beautiful cinematography, and one hell of a scary performance from Rutger Hauer.
He can kick Sean Bean's ass on any day. A solid shocker that ranks among the best thrillers of the 80's despite what the uptight Roger Ebert thinks.
