Review of The History Boys (2006) by Les E — 01 Mar 2008
One of the most interesting films I've seen for a long time. Obviously written by Alan Bennett it seems to be what he would have liked his own school days to have been like. My one criticism is that the boys accents seem to come from all over the place.
If this educational idyll exists anywhere it's probably not in a northern town. The carefully chosen cast of young and old compliment each other wonderfully. Who would not want Frances De La Tour as a teacher? Great.
