Adapted from his own excellant play,Alan Bennet's History Boys is a slight big screen experience.Very well played by a good cast,the film just feels too slight and,er,theatrical to be cinema.Hytner attempts to keep the pace clipping by,but the material is not suited to the medium.
A B+ for effort though,as there is still much to enjoy.
