These morons clearly got it all wrong? Even I, an avid anti-promoter of remakes, found Aja's intense gory garbage pretty much worth a watch with beers and a bunch of friends (I don't drink; it's fun to watch them make stupid things). Both the original and the remake emphasized an environment of imminent terror in the presence of savages. Aja turned them into mutants but what the heck. The point was the suspense and the isolation of the environment.
"So let's make it Rambo now! It worked with Aliens, didn't it? People want action!".
