Review of The Hills Have Eyes (1977) by Mark W — 17 Oct 2011
Not quite as hard to watch as Craven's last movie, Last House On The Left, but still pretty rough. It's still a pretty grueling movie and VERY rough around the edges.
A typical suburban family gets stranded in the deserts of New Mexico (I think) and are attacked by an inbred family of cannibals. When the baby is kidnapped, things get REALLY dark.
I like the remake, but this one is more brutal, even if it's not nearly as gory and gross. They're not mutants here. Just insane. And that maybe makes it a bit more frightening.
