Review of The Hills Have Eyes (1977) by Charlie B — 20 Sep 2012
Now I can see why Craven wanted to remake this. The 2006 remake is 100x better than this one in every dept. I can understand that the film was made on a shoestring budget but that doesn't give it an excuse for the bad acting, dialogue and characterizations.
That blond girl was just so annoying, too much unnecessary screaming. The so called mutants are nothing more that feral cannibals that act like idiots half the time. It was just too campy for my taste and didn't feel like a horror movie at all, nothing scary or suspenseful about it.
