Review of The Help (2011) by The Critic ( — 13 Mar 2013
A tender tale about fighting discrimination, 'The Help' is perhaps a little too long, but features a bevy of gripping performances from some very stunning ladies, lead by Emma Stone.
Playing out like a fairytale at times (some characters are two-dimenssionally good guys or bad guys), but one is so drawn into the proceedings that such flaws are easily forgiven.
Viola Davis took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, but just watch the wonderful Octavia L. Spencer steal the show.
