Yes, it is a little cheesy and sappy at times with some dodgy southern accents and some unexplained plot-points, but nevertheless, The Help is a great film adaptation that is realistic and has committed performances from its cast members, especially Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard and Jessica Chastain.
