The Help is a film that I never got a chance to see or didn't want to see by judging the trailers. But when it was announced at The Oscars for a lot of awards last year, I just had to check it out.

Unlike most films, this movie blends comedy and drama very well and somehow keeps a consistent tone. The acting in this movie is great with a stand out and well deserved Oscar winning performance by Octavia Spencer.

I'm definitely looking foward to seeing her in other movies. Emma Stone possible gives her most likable (and maybe best) performance. Viola Davis was fantastic in this movie also. The writing for this film is of course good.

From a drama aspect The Help really compelled me with very emotional touching scenes and mixed feelings you have throughout this entire film. Now don't get me wrong The Help has a few problems, in the middle of the film Emma Stone's character dates a guy who she had no chemistry with, which got very annoying.

Also there are two sub-plots, one about an abusive relationship, and one about losing a true friend, when both of these two sub-plots started, I was moved and compelled but then they just cut off both sub-plots without even acknowledging it towards the end.

Also The Help is not the type of movie I plan on seeing again anytime soon. So even though I have my problems and nitpicks with this movie, I still really enjoyed The Help.
