Review of The Help (2011) by Valentin G — 24 Apr 2015
A really beautiful movie, a little forced but with good pace.
The Help is a satisfactory story about racism in the 60's and the dreams of a young girl for being a writer. With good intentions this picture manages to connect with the audience and and although it seems, is not boring.
Despite that Emma Stone is the starring of this movie in her role of "Skeeter", Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer steal the limelight with great performances, one more dramatic (Davis) and the other more funny (Spencer). The rest of the cast accompanies very well, they aren't outstanding but nor hinder.
Tate Taylor made an excellent job directed and written this film, and show us the world that the american segregation didn't end in the XIX century. 8/10.
