Review of The Heat (2006) by K-Bob H — 31 May 2015
Actually good movie. The plot is very predictable (practically a re-working of Miss Congeniality, only now she's trying to be fun instead of pretty), but it has a couple original ideas, is really funny, smartly written, nicely directed, and well-acted by its cast, especially McCarthy and her family.
Bullock, though, was really quite annoying. Yes, her character called for it, but it still felt just too much, whether it be the writing or her performance, it was just too awkward.
