Review of The Heart of Man (2017) by Aaron V — 14 Sep 2017
The great message & testimonies were drowned out by the absurdly over dramatic acting and story telling. The slow, intense music that continuously plays throughout the movie in the background made the movie feel it was dragging on. A few of the testimonies were also very rehearsed & overly dramatic, and for these reasons (and others) they did not resonate with me.
I also think the main actor who played the Prodigal Son was simply unimpressive, uninspiring & not very good. He had the same look on his face whether he was happy, scared, sad etc.
In summary, the filmakers tried too hard to be impactful & move audiences instead of letting the testimonies speak for themself.
