Review of The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter (1968) by John W — 12 Apr 2015
Starring Alan Arkin, Sondra Locke, Chuck McCann and Cicely Tyson. Heartbreaking story of deaf man John Singer (Arkin) who moves from his small hometown to be near his institutionalized friend McCann. He moves in with family of teenager Locke, and slowly endears himself to everyone he meets.
Arkin is incredibly moving in the role that brought him his second Oscar nomination.
