Review of The Haunting (1963) by Julia Z — 16 Aug 2007
Extremely eerie without really showing anything and full of gorgeous cinematography and creepy moments that let you linger over the small, subtle things that become frightening. Julie Harris captures Eleanor's wavering level of sanity brilliantly.
The inclusion of Theodora's lesbianism is exciting for a fairly mainstream 60's film, and Claire Bloom is lovely as her. And on top of all this, it's a lot of fun!
