Review of The Haunting (1963) by Burcu S — 27 Jul 2009
The haunting is a classic spooky horror from the 60's that runs a little like an extended version of the twilight zone. this is not a bad thing because it genuinely thrills. this is down to the surprising fast pace of the film.
the camera moves frequently which is unusual for a movie from this era. it has no visual effects (apart from perhaps the opening sequence). all tension is built with the use of sound and bizzar angels.
a highly enjoyable horror classic that set the blueprints for many to come.
