Review of The Haunting (1963) by Carolina & — 03 Sep 2010
It is out of date, no doubts about it. I liked the way the film focused on the characters rather than on the surroundings - today horrors seem to be constructed the other way around.
The stuff that scares the audience has changed over the years so much, that the tricks Wise used 50 years ago merely bring up a smile on our faces. Still, it's cool to watch probably one of the first horrors which layed a foundation for the haunted house theme.
