Review of The Haunting (1963) by Evan D — 20 Jun 2012
Decent haunted house fare, with some great cinematography (the infra-red of shots of the house are excellent) and great special effects (the stretching door, the lensing effects). The acting is on the whole poor however, and the main characters internal dialogue gets very grating.
But the decent surprises mak this just about worthwhile. Not sure why it is Scorsese's top scary film though.
