Review of The Haunting (1963) by André D — 13 Nov 2014
One of the greatest ghost stories ever made. Robert Wise crafts a masterpiece of suspenseful horror that like many great horror flicks the scares come from fear of the unknown rather than what is on screen and its ambiguous about what comes from the main characters disturbed mind or what is really supernatural.
Even if you don't get scared you can still be drawn into the characters mind and that what makes this movie so consistently compelling.
