Review of The Hateful Eight (2015) by Frank G — 27 Apr 2016
The biggest disappointment since Jackie Brown & DeathProof. Tarantino doesn't write cinema any more, just repetitive, boring, over-long dialogue. He needs a script editor to cut his scripts in half and then a decent independent film editor to chop another third off and you may end up with a decent film here.
The exposition is so poor that in spite of hours of dialogue he needs to insert a voice over narrator half way to tell you a major plot point. The 70mm looks great in the wide shots but then seems bolted down and is unable to fluidly aid the story visually.
