Tarantino has set the bar so high that his 8th effort falls short of the mastery we've come to expect. The dialogue - Tarantino's cornerstone - isn't as crisp, the non-linear story-telling is largely absent, the characters aren't as developed or compelling, while the film's revelation is bogged down in a needlessly extended 3rd act.
