There's enough plot and drama to sustain the film. But despite Tarantino'a requisite mix of gratuitous violence and humor, this movie falls far short of his best efforts. Perhaps a homage to B Westerns is doomed to be - like those flicks - not actually very good.
In this case, no one approaches the Lee Van Cleef gravitas. Glad I waited to see it on a movie channel.
