Review of The Hateful Eight (2015) by Mattyice — 23 Apr 2016

I love Tarantino, but I honestly don't know what he was thinking while making The Hateful Eight. While the characters are cool, the twists do come, the film's shot well, and Ennio Morricone's score is great, the rest of the film, much unlike Tarantino's usual films, felt overwhelmingly boring and derivative.

It did not have nearly the level of action or interest as in films past, the film's plot and dialogue drags on and on, and its near 3 hour self-indulgent running time is far from necessary. Overall, this film was far from one of Tarantino's best and one of the most underwhelming movies I have seen from a critically acclaimed director in a very long time.
