Review of The Hateful Eight (2015) by Fatfreddy — 30 Dec 2015
Boring, self-indulgent crap from a smug and arrogant director. I could only sit through the first half, so perhaps it is saved by the second. I will never know, however. Outstanding actors cursed by third rate dialogue and, with some exceptions, by overly stylized (almost bordering on too cute, in some cases) characters to protray.
Leaden pace. 70mm wasted after the first few minutes of landscape shots. Offensive material drawn out for no dramatic purpose, but soley to offend, a prime example of which is the speech by Jackson that ends the first half.
Jackie Brown - Yes! Pulp Fiction - Yes! Basterds - well, OK.
