Review of The Hateful Eight (2015) by Dragonsfoe . — 02 May 2016
Gr8ful for the h8ful.
The hateful eight is a great time. It is funny, gory, tension-filled, with a great cast and snappy dialogue. It is no doubt that this is full on Tarantino, a though it's not for everyone it is definitely a great ride.
There is much to love in the hateful eight. Samuel L. Jackson does a great job as Major Warren, so does Walter Goggens of The Sheriff of Redrock. The whole cast is all great especially when the writing is so good. For a film that is about 3 hours the time goes by surprisingly fast. With great direction and great characters in a who dun it story, it is what you would expect from a Tarantino flick.
On the other hand, the film did not have to be 3 hours. The film also ends up being disturbing when it comes to the ending in addition to a story Warren gives when he talks to Bruce Dern.
Overall it's what anyone who expect from a Tarantino movie. It's fun, gory, ridiculous filled with great characters and snappy dialogue, even though it could have been trimmed down a bit.
Rating: 8.3 (A-).
