Review of The Happytime Murders (2018) by Ian H — 24 Aug 2018
Puppet movies are a rarity these days, so the bar is high to pull one off -- especially one geared towards adults. "The Happytime Murders" took that risk, and it paid off. Really raunchy, an assortment of creative puppet jokes, some great and some throwaway Melissa McCarthy-type jokes, but overall a funny and unique approach to storytelling.
I hope the Tomatometer comes to reflect the audibly positive audience reaction I witnessed in the theater, because this dying art needs some love and I want to see more adult/dark puppet movies made.
