About ten minutes into The Hangover part 2 I realised it wasn't going to be funny. I won't lie, I barely raised a smirk for the near hour and three quarter run time. It's incredible to think that a sequel that follows the formula of the unique and often hilarious original movie so closely, even to a fault can get it so wrong. Proof that lightning doesn't strike twice.
This time around the Wolf pack are in Bangkok, and do pretty much just what they did in Vegas, drink, get drugged and pass out after doing stupid things. Only this time it just isn't funny. The joke wore thin even faster than I expected for sure. God only knows what the third film is like. But like a true masochist I will have to find out now.
Sadly though especially for fans of the original film The Hangover part 2 has precious little to offer at all, there are a couple of neat touches here and there but nothing to write home from Bangkok about. Oh look a lady with a penis. Haven't heard that joke before.
