Two years after the bachelor party in Las Vegas, Phil Wenneck, Stu Price, Alan Garner, and Doug Billings jet off to Thailand for Stu's wedding. Stu's plan for a subdued pre-wedding brunch, however, goes seriously awry. After a quiet night on the beach with a beer and toasting marshmallows by the camp fire. Stu, Alan and Phil wake up in a hotel room along with Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong) in Bangkok. Doug is back at the resort, but Teddy is missing, there's a monkey with a severed finger, Alan's head is shaved, Stu has a tattoo on his face, and they can't remember any of it. The wolf-pack retrace their steps through strip clubs, tattoo parlors and cocaine-dealing monkeys on the streets of Bangkok as they try and find Teddy before the wedding.
The Second installment of the original 2009 hit comedy, what I was afraid would happen did because, Scot Armstrong, Craig Mazin, and Todd Phillips screenplay was essentially the same story structure of the first but not quite as fresh and hysterical, I still thought its very funny and somehow managed to work just the only major difference from the original is its in a new setting, instead of returning to Las Vegas they go to Thailand, Bangkok. Which, explains why they've even made the sequel more raunchier and crueler that is often times quite disturbing for most people to take in a rated-R movie. By raising its level of raunchiness helped maintain some of the original shock value while most people will be turned off by it. So to put its simply if you laughed your ass off watching the first you'll bound to laugh half your ass off at this film despite the noticeably darker tone of this installment.
The cast are to be largely commended in their respective roles that made them movie stars, especially the four main wolf pack including Bradly Cooper, Justin Bartha, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis who is not only the standout for his hysterical performance but takes the cake for some of the best one-liners in the film. I also thought Ken Jeong is really fantastic and another standout comedic performance. Crystal The Monkey was also really funny and almost stole the show for her off the charts adorableness on screen in every one of the scenes she's in. During the credits they once again show pictures of the night is wrong and funny. I won't revel what happens to some of the characters but its pretty f*** up but the pictures are still hilarious.
So overall, while this installment might not have match the standard to the original nor as fresh, as fresh as the original but if you laughed your ass off and loved the first film you'll more then likely laugh half as much in this sequel. It's essentially the movie but put in a much different setting which would explain they made the film much darker and the raunchiness has been risen another notch which might detract some people but is still one of the most funniest films I've seen and is worth the trip if you'd loved the first film and have seen it many times.
