Review of The Handmaid's Tale (1990) by Louisa P — 15 Nov 2007
Based on the great novel (by the same name), this movie does partial justice to it. The main themes of the book are adequately conveyed, but I think some of the author's social criticism has been left out.
The book implies that the dystopia it portrays is not only the right-wing extremists' fault. It rose partially because of the feminist movement and the extreme right's shared interests.
