Review of The Hamiltons (2006) by Kevin R — 02 Mar 2015
We're sick.
Four siblings for some strange reason need to keep moving. It is obvious that they are very violent, and into torture, but where are the sibling's parents, how do they not get caught, and what secret resides in their basement? Some unfortunate teenagers in their new town are going to discover the family's secrets. Will the family get caught this time or continue their ways?
"She's an organ donor. How sweet.".
Mitchell Altieri, director of April Fool's Day, The Violent Kind, The Thompsons, Holy Ghost People, Lurking in Suburbia, and Raised by Wolves, delivers The Hamiltons. The storyline for this picture was interesting, unique, and fun to watch unfold. The horror elements were fairly well done and the cast delivers average, amateurish performances, but not so bad the film isn't worth watching.
"Look at all these pretty stars.".
"I think you mean rain drops.".
I used to go to the theatres to watch the 8 Films to Die For back in the day and was always disappointed I never saw this. I came across this on Netflix and jumped at the chance to see it. I actually found this fairly solid and a nice independent addition to the horror genre. This may have been one of the better pictures from the first season of 8 Films to Die For. I recommend seeing this if you're a fan of the genre.
"Just know one thing; I am going to kill you, all right?".
Grade: C+.
