Very poorly acted but it's a b-horror film so what do you expect? Some of the characters are going to annoy you for sure but the film picks up at the end and when you find out what's going on, it's a pretty solid payoff.
As far as cheap horror goes, you could do much worse (see: Dr. Moreau's House of Pain).
