Though it gleefully basks in 80's B slasher horror trappings, Adam Wingard's sophomore 'home invasion' thriller has enough smarts, originality and sly black humour to make it a superior edge-of-your-seat affair.
The debonair Dan Stevens is magnificent as the psychologically-wrecked war veteran, skilfully threading the fine line between upright and psychotic.
