Though it was clear that David's character was no hero, his precise role remained uncertain until the end. Initially, the viewer may misunderstand this film as dull and dimwitted. By the end, it is clear that the movie is much more clever and smart than anticipated.
It was a delightful surprise which required patience, but was well worth the effort.
