A surprising dark, but also somewhat comedic, The Guest is surprising. While one is led to believe that this is merely another mindless action flick based around a misunderstood and well intentioned stranger, The Guest suddenly turns the tables and becomes something much, much darker.

While sometimes this borders on level of absurdness, The Guest never goes too far down a path of mindless, dumb violence. Dan Stevens plays the role of "David" in a chilling way that is convincing and for awhile you are not sure if you should like him or not.

Even when the horrific truth is discovered you still want to like him which again is the sign of a well acted part.
