Review of The Guest (2014) by Edward C — 22 Feb 2015

This is an excellent little action-thriller with elements of black humour. A man joins a family claiming to be a friend of their deceased son, and shortly thereafter strange things start happening. The director previously did a fun little horror film called "You're Next", and this has the same feel.

You can tell he's a big film fan, particularly of 80's movies as this has several nods to classic films of that era. Dan Stevens is absolutely great in the role, a star-making turn in my opinion, he just nails the tone of the film and really elevates it.
