Review of The Guard (2011) by Gaspar O — 26 Mar 2013
American pigs could learn a lot from Sergeant Gerry Boyle. I was seriously questioning my choice of entertainment for the first half hour or so, but it did pick up enough that I started to enjoy it. Brendan Gleeson shined bright and Don Cheadle can ne'er do wrong.
The script could have been better I suppose, but the last half of the movie made up for the first and was both amusing and exciting. If you're American, be prepared to turn on subtitles, because what comes out of Brendan's mouth could easily be confused for Pig Latin, and I mean Latin.
