Review of The Gruffalo (2009) by Eduardo B — 17 Jan 2015
My favorite food is...
A family of mice survive in the scary woods by making up stories of a Gruffalo and telling the tales to the snakes, owls, and other beasts that would feast upon them. One day while sitting fat and happy a mouse bumps into an actual hungry Gruffalo. How will a hungry Gruffalo manage the mice and beasts of the forest?
"And his favorite food is owl ice cream.".
Max Land (Room on the Broom) and Jakob Schuh collaborate to deliver Gruffalo. The storyline for this picture is very well done and I love the characters, script, and interactions. The settings were also cool as was the conclusion. I also enjoyed the animation style.
"There's no such thing as a Gruffalo.".
I came across this on Netflix and thought it looked cool so we gave it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised and we thoroughly enjoyed it all the way through. I had never heard of this picture or read the book and my daughter and I giggled all the way through. I recommend seeing this gem!
"You'll taste good on a slice of bread.".
Grade: B.
