Sarah Michelle Gellar is terrible ("This is my scared face!" "This is my concerned face!"), but in spite of her, this movie is freaky-deaky and builds to an insane climax. Refreshingly, it stays true to its J-horror roots.
Just skip over the studio-mandated opening title cards, which spoil the plot.
