Review of The Green Mile (1999) by Mark N — 17 Apr 2012
Darabont takes King and puts it on the screen, he does it well but takes few risks that would make the material his own. An outstanding cast bring the character to life each perfect for their role. 3 hours is very indulgent but somehow the movie fills the time without feeling its length and much of that is tribute to the cast.
Combined with Shawshank you have over 5 hours of fine Americana horror/drama.
